Babysitting will be avaiable on a reservation basis for children 3 and up at $10.00 an hour per child.  Babysitting should be paid in cash.  The young adults babysitting are certified babysitters. Anyone requesting babysitting should send an email to ccloutiertri@aol.com

MISCELLANOUS INFORMATION:

·                Packets can be picked up on Saturday July 10, 2010 (highly encouraged)
Time: 9-12 noon at Heritage Ice Cream Resturant, 
163 Pawtucket Blvd. Lowell, MA 01852
Race Day pickup 6:30 - 7:45am
at the Pavilion near the start of the race.
               T-shirts to everyone registered by July 5, 2010
·                 Number transfer until 7-09-2010.  Must be done by original participant.

Access to the transition area will close at 7:45 am
·                   Chip Timing provided by Bay State Race Services
    participants are not allowed to use their own chip.

 BIKE ROUTE:
Bike, 13mi. One loop for Sprint, 2 loop for International.  Leave transition (Magnolia St.) and head N. into Tyngsboro by way of Pawtucket Blvd.  Take a rt. at Butterfield and quick left onto Shurburn Ave., bear rt. onto Colburn, take a rt. onto Lakeview Ave., take a rt. onto Old County Rd./Willowdale, take a left onto Shurburn Ave./Varnum Ave. At the end of Varnum Ave. take a rt. back onto Pawtucket Blvd and back to transition. 

 RUN ROUTE:

Leave transition and head N. up Pawtucket Blvd.  Sprint crossover is at 2mi.

International crossover is at Vesper C.C.

Directions to venue:
From the south
: Take Rte 3 North, exit #32 take a sharp right at the end of the ramp, Drum Hill Road/Lowell exit.  Sears will be on the left, continue for 1& ¼ miles and go over the Rourke Bridge, turn right onto 113 east, go .90 mile & the triathlon is on the right (across from Heritage Ice Cream)

From the North: Take Rte. 3 South, Take Exit 32, Go around the rotary and take Drum Hill Road/Lowell exit.  Then proceed as per the above directions.

 

Please do not park in the Heritage Ice Cream parking lot on the day of the race.
This will be the transition area!.

 ***** A $10.00 one day USAT member fee is required for all non-USAT members in addition to the registration fee.  Each team participant needs to pay the one day fee if not a USAT member.

The streets will not be closed, so please use caution. We have numerous police details at intersections and lots of volunteers throughout the course. 
 
Headphones
Headphones are not allowed during the race per USAT rules. This is not a closed course and you need to be aware of your surroundings.
 
Transition Area
The transition area will be on the grounds of Heritage Ice Cream.  The ONLY people allowed in the transition area will be athletes with numbers written on their bodies. Anyone who needs a non-athlete to work on their bike must take their bike out of the Transition Area. The Transition Area will be closed at 7:45AM. No exceptions. Each participant will get a race number which will designate their space in the transition area. Please be courteous to others as there is limited space. Once the race starts there will be a strictly enforced entrance and an exit. This is for the safety of all participants. You will NOT be allowed to mount your bicycle til you are safely out of the transition area. 
 
Volunteers
We have worked hard to plan and stage volunteers at strategic places on the course. All will have phone numbers for emergency personnel. If you know of anyone who would be interested in volunteering, please let us know. 
 
Bike
This is a non-drafting race. All participants must wear a bike helmet.  You can not mount your bike until you are out of the transition area safely.  Participants must place their race numbers on their bike. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
 
Run
The run course is flat. There will be water stations on the course. Please be aware you will be running with traffic at times.
 
Refreshments
Refreshments will be provided to event participants after the event.
 

AWARDS
Awards go to International, Sprint,  Top 3 men Overall Top 3 women Overall

1st,2nd,3rd, place men & women in the following age Categories: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, & 70 & Up 
Awards will go to first place teams: men, women & mixed. 
Aquabike awards Top 3 in Men & Women only


Results
will be posted on www.coolrunning.com and www.doublecracing.com a few days following the race.
 
Cancellation/Weather
This is a rain or shine event.  Race Director has the right to change the course or the event to a Duathlon if so premitted that we are not able to swim in the river.  This has only happened once in the last 10 years.
